Intermediate Java
Computer science is a crucial skill to have in the world we live in today. This class will use Java to cover intermediate topics in computer science, preparing students for an AP class. Students will have to bring their own computers with Eclipse installed and will be expected to know basic concepts as covered in an introduction to Java class. If you're looking for a way to strengthen your understanding of computer science, this class if for you!
Dates: Fridays 9/8, 9/22, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27

Eric Yang
Eric is a sophomore at Lynbrook High School. Over the past year, he has studied Java, and got a 5 on the AP Computer Science test. In addition to Java, Eric has learned Python through a John Hopkins CTY program. Eric was TA for Arthur’s Java class this past spring semester. Besides computer science, Eric is also interested in math, taking math competitions such as AMC’s, Math Olympiads, and CAML’s. Outside of school Eric plays piano and is a leader in his Boy Scout troop. In his free time, he likes to socialize with friends and play video games.

George Wang
I’m George Wang. I am a sophomore at Gunn High School. I began programming around seventh grade. The first programming language I learned was Python. In 8th grade, I moved to Java. I got an A+ in Functional Object Oriented Programming with Java freshmen year, and I also won a perfect score in the USACO Bronze Division Contest. I currently have a silver rank. I like making games and applications with programming.
