USACO Bronze


The USACO bronze class is a great way to introduce your child who is interested in coding to coding competitions. This competition is a great way to show schools your skills in computer science and is very selective and competitive event. If your child is interested in computer science and wants to show their skills, the USACO coding competitions is the way to go. In this class we will be learning:

  1. How to solve coding problems
  2. Algorithms
  3. Data Structures
  4. Recursion
  5. Practicing for the competition

Some knowledge in a programming language is necessary.

Teachers

Tony Jiang

Hey, I’m Tony Jiang, a sophomore at Saratoga High School. I am very interested in computer science and coding and hope I can pass my interest onto my students. I have been coding since 5th grade and have competed in many USACO competitions. Currently, I am competing in USACO gold. I hope to introduce students to this competition and create an interest in computer science. I completed APCS in 9th grade and earned a 5 on the AP exam. I have also TA’d for a java class before and have taught public speaking. In my free time I enjoy studying algorithms, playing video games, and running.

Jeffrey Tian

Jeffrey Tian is a junior at Monta Vista High School. In addition to his programming experience, he has gotten a 5 on the AP Physics 1 exam as well as qualified for the AIME twice. He has previously taught Web Design for Silicon Valley Youth and has plenty of experience in teaching and tutoring. In his free time, Jeffrey enjoys playing baseball and basketball. He is excited to teach USACO this year and is eager to pass on his knowledge to his students.
